Hot Rod Robin: 30-Day Song Challenge, the Sequel, day 19 – a song you used to love, but that you have now outgrown

When we’re kids we like the damnedest things, don’t we? There was a moment, I guess during the summer of 1972, when my two favorite songs were the Jackson 5’s “Rockin’ Robin”…

…and Commander Cody’s “Hot Rod Lincoln”:

  1. I prefer the Johnny Bond version of Hot Rod Lincoln. There are so many songs that I could put here. In my senior year of high school I listed Huey Lewis and the News “Sports” as my favorite album, which is ludicrous now. Most of Elton John falls in this category also. I give you Crocodile Rock (it doesn’t help that it’s pre-programed on the electric keyboard as a MIDI mess and the kids play it all the time). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12cLXeS14kM
