In August the President threatened war (likely nuclear) with North Korea. He blamed both sides – Nazis and white supremacists vs. counter-protesters – for violence in Charlottesville, Virginia. He threatened to send immigrants who entered the US illegally as small children to foreign countries they’ve never known as home. And his minions supported selling surplus military gear to police, making it harder for minorities to vote, and the rights of rapists over the rights of their victims.

All in all, August was a bad month for American values.
