  1. “Please stay on the line. Your call is important to us. Did you know that we offer a vast array of services that we know you really don’t want to hear about or need in any way and that the purpose of your call is wholly unrelated to this annoying advertising message that we will periodically interrupt this soul destroying version of “Trees” that we have made our choice for you to listen to so that hopefully you’ll just bugger off and not bother our single “customer service” representative somewhere in India who refuses to even try to understand what you’re trying to call about and will blithely give you the run around and try and sell you these products our company provides that you don’t want or need in an attempt to steer you away from the original purpose of your call did we mention the horrible music with periodic moments of silence that give you false hope that you may actually gotten through to a “customer service” representative.”

    • I sometimes catch myself talking to the recording.

:RECORDING: Please stay on the line. Your call is important to us.
:ME: If my call was so goddamned important I wouldn’t be listening to a fucking recording, would I?
