Obamacare: what if politicians were honest?

  1. Obamacare seems to be another bailout , this time for the big insurance companies. If you steal $700 billion from Medicare and shift those tax dollars to the HMO’s then essentially you’ve created a new income stream for these private insurance companies. The problem is HMO’s can deny you healthcare.
I see this program as something that will increase the death rates among the elderly and poor.

  2. “I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its gross national product on health care, cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody…. A single-payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. That’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately.”
~Barack Obama, the “not totally honest” politician

He didn’t get what he wanted, but he worked with everyone to make something real happen. And now everybody gets to whine because they didn’t get EVERYTHING they wanted.

We’re a pathetic bunch of disgruntled bullshit artists in this country. Something honest and good comes along and we all just start shitting on it, no matter our previous statements or deeply held beliefs.
