No way. Sorry. 🙂 Duran Duran did a lot more the music industry and media than anything Def Leppard accomplished. Although they had some good songs, no doubt, Def Leppard is not in any celestial atmosphere even close to what Duran Duran accomplished.

Duran Duran are music pioneers and are also known for their sense of style and creative music videos when those were first invented. They were not simply a synthesizer band. You must have them confused with the Thompson Twins or someone else. I met John Taylor of Duran Duran, and so should you.
