GOP Presidential Candidate Reader 4: Fun with Rick and Jane and W

Rick likes Ma Ferguson.
Ma was governor of Texas.

Did Ma like school?
No, no, no.
Ma did not like school.
Ma thought Jesus spoke English.
Because of the Bible.
Ma was a dum-dum.
Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Rick is governor of Texas.
Does Rick like school?
No, no, no.
Rick does not like school.
Rick believes Texas is a country.
Rick believes gayness can be cured by prayer.
And public stoning.
Rick believes the world is 6,000 years old.
Rick believes all this crap is in the Bible.
Rick is a dum-dum.
Dumb, dumb, dumb.

W was governor of Texas, too.
Did W like school?
No, no, no.
W did not like school.
W believed cutting taxes would reduce the deficit.
W believed milk trucks were WMD’s.
W believed Cheney could be trusted.
W is a dum-dum.
Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Does W like Rick?
No, no, no.
W does not like Rick.
Even W is not that dumb.

(Actually, just for the sake of historical accuracy, Ma Ferguson was a far more complex, sympathetic and politically interesting figure than Slick Rick.  I feel a little guilty lumping her with Rick and W. But not guilty enough not to do it.)

  1. Although I tend to agree with the sentiment of the message, I still object the image of Fun with Dick and Jane being the vehicle of delivery. But then, Mein Kampf may have been seen as a little heavy handed…though possibly not inaccurate.
