I am on my EAR laughing at this. Sam, you remember that vid I did with the anxiety-producing images up front to give annuity salespeople a sense of what might drive customers to them (and, consequently, a sense of how to sell those particular annuities)? Well, more than a month later, feedback came down that it needed to be “toned down.” So, I toned it down. But not enough, it would seem. The next feedback was that it was “too negative.”
Now, it’s just a straight-on shot of a woman talking on a phone with no cutaways to different camera angles, different focal lenghts, eyes, hands … anything.
I’m serious.
What I really missed from the posted video, though, is all the words and phrases I’ve come to know and love, like: “stratetgize,” “synergize,” “synergisticize,” “incetivize,” “reach out to the graphic standards department,” “get ownership,” and a host of others that warm my heart every time I hear them.
Thanks! This made my day.
Based on my experience with that same client, I can’t say I’m surprised.
And wait – no “co-opetition”?
Sympathy for the Agencies! Into the Hall of Fame with this, by acclaim, right next to “Doesn’t Know How To View A Rough Cut” lady.
This is before legal got a hold of it, right? I mean, there wasn’t a thing about a warning on there that stopping could be hazardous to your health. And environmental warnings about how idling could lead to increases in local ozone levels…
Classic. Thanks!
Is this reality TV? I didn’t realize they had hidden cameras in my office!
