The passion of St. Paris

Earlier this year year bad girl Paris Hilton went to jail. While there she was touched by God and emerged a changed woman, determined to be a better person and role model.

Now, she’s making good on that promise.

It kinda reminds of the time Mother Teresa posed nude with sparkles all over her body for canned champagne and donated 20% of the proceeds to charity.

  1. I don’t know which I find more disturbing, that Paris is posing nude as an act of being a role model for young girls or that someone is marketing champagne in a can. Of course I also don’t understand the draw of NASCAR or professional wrestling.

  2. Personally, as someone who has no problems looking at the nude female form, I’m happy to see Paris do what she does best. My only complaint is that you need to actually eat food to pull off a Rubenesque/Pre-Raphaelite pose like that. 😉

  3. Martin,
I have no prob with her posing nude, she definitely does it well, it’s her trying to pass as a role model that I think is a bit off.

  4. Rho,

What’s wrong with posing nude and being a role model? Does Angelina Jolie’s work as a goodwill ambassador and advocate for developing nations evaporate because she has gotten naked often in her career?

I’d certainly say that Paris Hilton is no role model, but getting naked in front of the camera strikes me as a much more positive thing to do than drinking and driving, for instance.

  5. Martin,
I will grant you those points. i guess its not so much the nude posing as the thought of her a role model in any form that I was actually finding disturbing.

  6. What’s wrong with posing nude and being a role model?

It’s easy to say these things right up until the point where Michael Moore does a spread for Playgirl.

  7. Rho,

Indeed. If we come to bury Paris and not praise her, let’s do so for the right reasons–that she’s a brainless bimbette who has done almost nothing of value for the public good and has lowered our standards of fame to the point where she is venerated simply for existing.

    Sam,

Come on. Fat jokes are beneath you. Besides, there’s always that one person who’ll buy the Moore centerfold issue and take umbrage with your comment. I am not said person, but I wouldn’t doubt they’re out there. Somewhere. 😉

  8. I said not a damned word about fat. I’m just noting that you’re making a lot of assumptions as you chat about nudity and role modeling. And before you jump on my comment, you might have a look at those assumptions. Just saying. 🙂

  9. Martin,
“she’s a brainless bimbette who has done almost nothing of value for the public good and has lowered our standards of fame to the point where she is venerated simply for existing.” AGREED and Bravo!

  10. … silently thinks to himself .. I wonder what I’d get paid for a Playgirl spread … hmmmm ….

  11. Well, boys and girls, that ‘brainless bimbette’ generates about $5 million a year just for being herself. That’s not Daddy’s money either. She makes every penny of it. So, maybe she ain’t so dumb after all, eh?
