Saturday Video Roundup: smack my sad Peanuts up

In last week’s Saturday Video Roundup we looked at some of the greatest music vids ever. Today we’re paying tribute to some of history’s more wonderful videos, although these are memorable for … different reasons.

Let’s begin with one of the more sublimely disturbing moments in vid history, shall we?

Up next – last week we saw The Prodigy’s infamous video for “Smack My Bitch Up.” Today, a slightly different approach to the same song. Sorta. A must for Enya fans…

Finally, since I started you out with that Sad Kermit bummer, let’s end on a happy note and get your Saturday hopping, shall we?

Oh, and before we go, mad props to my fellow NC native Jon Reep, who this week won Last Comic Standing, and in doing so put Hickory on the map. This was his winning performance.

Have a nice weekend, y’all.

  1. Sad Kermit is the greatest thing ever in the history of great things. The clincher is really the scene with Rolf–you dread the thought of what he does, and you think, “Oh my God, he won’t do it”–and he does! 🙂

  2. Yeah, that’s the moment where the vid truly transcends into the pantheon.

I expect Brian will be along shortly to tell us how it isn’t that funny at all. He lacks our appreciation for the Dark Arts….

  3. Every time I see that Kermy vid, it gets less funny. 😦 I guess it offends my conservative sensibilities. 🙂
