First this, reported by Salon.com: Hillary Clinton is having to defend herself against attacks that she accepted flights aboard the jet of Vinod Gupta, a Clinton contributor. Clinton defended herself by noting that she was simply playing by the rules regulating use of private jets by members of Congress. “In line with Senate rules then in effect, Clinton’s campaign has said she reimbursed Gupta at the cost of a first-class flight, typically a significant discount off the expense of a private jet.” Why was Hillary using the jet? To campaign for president….
Does this sound familiar? Of course it does. “…Enron made its company jet readily available to the Bush-Cheney campaign during the 1999-2000 election cycle at a greatly reduced price….Federal rules permit such use, as long as the campaigns reimburse the company for the cost of a first class plane ticket….”
Could both sides please shut up about this? Accusing each other of having rich friends who give them breaks on, oh, rides in private jets is like accusing each other of being power hungry.
There comes a point when I don’t want the obvious articulated.
Thank you for your time and attention….
