Novelist, college professor, rock musician - are we getting the band back together? Maybe....

Well, here’s one way of dealing with a rock legend’s legacy…

Courtney Love is selling Kurt Cobain’s things.

“My daughter doesn’t need to inherit a giant…bag full of flannel shirts.”

Frances Bean, the daughter, will get a sweater, a guitar and – the lyrics to “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

This move which Love says friends support, will also allow her to move on with her own life:

“I still wear his pajamas to bed. How am I ever going to form another relationship in my life wearing Kurt’s pajamas?”

I want to believe that this is being done for some reason other than money, but my crap detector dings when I read this:

“We’ll make a lot of money and give a bunch of it to charity.”

Given Love and Cobain’s checkered history, one has to wonder just how altruistic her motives are at this point.
